On June 9, reports indicated that Shanghai has revised its subsidy approach for car trade-ins, introducing an instant lottery system. The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce announced on the evening of June 8 that from June 9 through September 30, 2026, eligible individual consumers can take part in the instant lottery drawings. To participate, they must register daily between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM via the “Government Services - Subsidy Application for Trading in Old Cars for New Ones” portal on the “Shanghai Business” WeChat official account.
