On June 3, 2026, an AITO M9 vehicle traveling in Taizhou, Zhejiang, collided with a sizable metal fragment that had detached from a preceding vehicle. This collision resulted in a significant physical impact. Subsequently, the vehicle continued to move while dragging the debris until it eventually caught fire. Fortunately, the fire was promptly extinguished, and, most importantly, no casualties were reported from this incident. In response, AITO Auto issued an official statement, clarifying that the vehicle's three-electric system—comprising the battery, motor, and electronic control unit—was operating normally prior to the incident. The company emphasized that the accident was not attributable to any malfunction or issue with the vehicle itself.
