On June 7, BMW made an official announcement revealing that Belgian logistics behemoth Katoen Natie has inked a procurement pact with BMW Group Belux. In this landmark deal, Katoen Natie placed an order for 1,000 all-electric vehicles in one fell swoop, setting a new benchmark as the largest-ever all-electric corporate fleet order in Belgian history. The order encompasses a diverse range of all-electric models from both the BMW and MINI stables, prominently featuring the cutting-edge iX3 and i3 models crafted on the advanced Neue Klasse platform. Katoen Natie has outlined its ambitious plan to phase out its existing fleet of fossil fuel-powered vehicles, replacing them with these eco-friendly alternatives. This strategic move is projected to yield an impressive annual reduction of 3,350 tons in CO2 emissions, coupled with substantial cost savings on fuel expenditure.
