On June 1, 2026, news emerged that the Power Battery Professional Committee, operating under the Standard and Regulation Working Committee of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, convened its first standard review meeting of the year in Beijing on May 28, 2026. Throughout the session, delegates from diverse standard drafting teams presented project initiation briefings and conducted technical evaluations for five group standards. These included: General Rules for Cost Calculation Models of Power and Energy Storage Batteries, Specifications for Performance and Safety Testing of Lithium Metal Batteries for Electric Flying Cars, Performance Requirements and Testing Specifications for Rivet Nut Sealants in Power Batteries, Method for Assessing Energy Consumption in Lithium Battery Manufacturing, and Evaluation Method for Safety Early Warning Models of Electric Vehicle Battery Systems.
The panel of review experts engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the necessity, rationality, and practicality of these standards. They meticulously scrutinized the textual framework, primary technical benchmarks, compilation rationales, and approaches to addressing feedback in the drafts submitted. Furthermore, they offered expert advice, establishing a robust groundwork for the continued refinement of these standards. Moving forward, the Power Battery Special Committee will oversee the formulation, revision, and enhancement of these standards, adhering to the relevant stipulations outlined in the Measures for the Administration of Standard Development and Revision of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and incorporating the insights and recommendations provided by the review experts.
