Ferrari has officially rolled out its inaugural all-electric vehicle, the Luce, crafted under the visionary design leadership of Jony Ive, the former Chief Design Officer of Apple. The design ethos of the Luce embodies minimalism, marking a stark departure from the traditional aesthetic of Ferrari’s gasoline-fueled sports cars. Priced starting at $640,000, the Luce boasts a 122 kWh battery pack, delivering a driving range of up to 530 kilometers. Propelled by four electric motors, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.5 seconds and achieves a top speed surpassing 310 km/h. As Ferrari’s first-ever five-seater and second four-door offering, the Luce is strategically positioned to cater to the ultra-affluent families. Since its debut, the new model has garnered a mixed reception, with certain analysts raising doubts about whether it successfully preserves Ferrari’s iconic sports car essence. Consequently, Ferrari’s stock price experienced an 8% decline in the early trading session on the Milan Stock Exchange, though the drop subsequently narrowed to 6%.
