On May 19, Lei Jun announced that the Xiaomi YU7 GT set a new Nürburgring SUV lap record with a time of 7 minutes and 34.931 seconds, with chief test driver Ren Zhoucan becoming the first Chinese driver to receive official Nürburgring lap certification. Previously, the Audi RS Q8 Performance held the record with a time of 7 minutes and 36.698 seconds in March 2026, a record now surpassed by the Xiaomi YU7 GT.
