The US Federal Aviation Administration approved Boeing's plan to resume operations of the MD-11 aircraft on May 11 local time. Previously, the model was grounded in December following a fatal MD-11 cargo plane crash in Louisville, Kentucky, in November 2025, which claimed the lives of 15 people. After several months of inspections and structural modifications, the MD-11 cargo planes will gradually resume operations.
