According to data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on May 7, Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory delivered over 79,000 vehicles in April, representing a significant 36% year-on-year increase. Notably, the factory's production of the spacious six-seater SUV, the Model Y L, has now begun shipping to multiple markets across the Asia-Pacific region. In the first quarter of 2026, Tesla's worldwide deliveries surpassed 358,000 vehicles, bringing the total number of Tesla owners globally to over 9 million.
