In the initial five months of 2026, Ford Motor Company has already initiated 34 recall campaigns, encompassing 9,812,890 vehicles and 2,633 engine coolers. The cumulative volume of these recalls has surpassed 75% of the total recalls from the previous year. Should the recall pace persist at its current rate throughout the second half of the year, 2026 could witness a historic high in terms of the number of recalls within a single year. In 2025, Ford conducted a staggering 153 recalls, involving nearly 13 million vehicles, a figure that far outstripped those of other manufacturers. Moreover, from 2022 to 2023, Ford consistently ranked as the brand with the highest number of recalls. The substantial warranty costs incurred have not only dented the company's profitability and tarnished its reputation but have also led to fines for non-compliance with recall regulations. Ford officials have clarified that recalls represent a proactive approach, underscoring the company's proactive dedication to upholding safety responsibilities. Presently, the company has augmented the size of its expert teams and intensified testing protocols for critical systems.
