On April 28, Business Insider brought to light that Tesla has, for an extended period, been promoting its electric vehicles with the enticing prospect of 'attaining autonomous driving capabilities in the future.' However, the reality has now set in: vehicles produced prior to 2023 and outfitted with Hardware 3 computers are unable to achieve fully unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) due to inherent computational constraints. In response to this issue, Tesla has presented two alternatives for affected owners. They can either opt to trade in their vehicles at a reduced price or choose to have their computers and cameras replaced at designated 'microfactories' located in major cities. This development has ignited a wave of discontent among Tesla owners, many of whom feel that they have shelled out a substantial sum only to be left empty-handed in terms of the promised technology.
