On April 16, Honda unveiled its plan to introduce the new pure electric vehicle (EV) model, the 'INSIGHT,' in Japan starting April 17. Built upon the foundation of a pure electric SUV manufactured in China, this model has been meticulously tailored to meet Japanese market specifications. Honda will reverse import this limited-edition vehicle, with only 3,000 units available, at a suggested retail price of 5.5 million yen (approximately RMB 236,000). This strategic initiative is designed to broaden Honda's domestic EV product portfolio in Japan and, concurrently, enhance the operational efficiency of its Chinese factories. Following the successful introduction of the 'Odyssey,' this marks Honda's second China-manufactured model to be sold in the Japanese market.
