Xiaomi Group unveiled two key personnel appointments through an internal email: Hu Zhengnan will assume the roles of Vice President of Xiaomi Group and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Auto Division. Meanwhile, Song Gang will take on the positions of Vice President of Xiaomi Group’s Auto Division and Chief of Staff. This marks the inaugural establishment of a CTO role at Xiaomi Auto since its inception in 2021.

Hu Zhengnan, boasting over two decades of experience in the automotive sector, has been instrumental in the development of several best-selling vehicle models. He initially joined Xiaomi Auto in an advisory capacity in 2021, contributing to its foundational work during the early stages. Now, he has officially stepped into the role of technical leader for Xiaomi Auto.

Song Gang’s career trajectory spans both the traditional automotive and new energy vehicle eras, with notable achievements accrued during his tenure at Tesla. The recruitment of these two top-tier talents further bolsters the executive team at Xiaomi Auto. Presently, Xiaomi Auto boasts a robust R&D workforce of nearly 10,000 personnel, covering the entire supply chain.

Hu Zhengnan is poised to fortify the technological bedrock of Xiaomi Auto, while Song Gang will focus on enhancing its manufacturing system. The genuine second phase of Xiaomi Auto’s evolution has just commenced.
