This morning, Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi Auto, set out on the Beijing-Shanghai endurance challenge behind the wheel of Xiaomi’s brand-new SU7, covering a total distance of 1,265 kilometers while streaming the entire journey live. The test vehicle was the new SU7 Pro in the striking Chi Xia Red color. As Lei Jun and his team pulled into the Linyi service area, they were met by a throng of enthusiastic Mi Fans waving banners, prompting Lei Jun to post a heartfelt message of thanks in response to their overwhelming support.
During the second segment of the trip, after arriving at the Linyi rest stop, the vehicle reported just 3% battery remaining, having already traveled 630 kilometers. The entire journey adhered strictly to speed limits, achieving an average energy consumption of 15.2 kWh per 100 kilometers, with the second leg seeing a slightly lower rate of 14.7 kWh per 100 kilometers. Lei Jun announced that the third leg would commence at 2 PM, during which the team planned to enjoy a meal, take a rest, and recharge the vehicle for one hour.
At the Binzhou East service area, Lei Jun took a moment to introduce the accompanying driver as not only a Xiaomi R&D expert but also a professional racer. The first leg of the journey began at 6:36 AM, entered Shandong province around 9 AM, and covered 327 kilometers to reach the Binzhou service area in just 3 hours and 15 minutes, with an energy consumption rate of 15.6 kWh per 100 kilometers.
