On April 17, during a livestream session where he addressed queries from netizens, Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, announced that the company does not plan to introduce any car models priced below RMB 100,000 in the coming years. He elaborated that incorporating advanced intelligent features into electric vehicles (EVs) would inevitably drive up production costs, thereby making it challenging to maintain a price point under RMB 100,000. On the same day, Lei Jun embarked on a remarkable livestream challenge, driving the new-generation SU7 Pro model. He undertook a long-distance journey spanning 1,265 kilometers, traveling from Beijing to Shanghai on a single charge. This ambitious drive is projected to last approximately 15 hours and is expected to reach its conclusion around 21:30 in the evening upon arrival in Shanghai.
