As reported by electrek, a significant development has emerged in the case of a serious Tesla Model Y crash in Bergen, Norway. In the early morning hours of May 13, 2023, a Tesla Model Y taxi spun out of control and crashed at Torgallmenningen Square in Bergen, undergoing two separate impacts. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident. The driver maintained that the vehicle had malfunctioned. However, data from Tesla's Event Data Recorder (EDR) indicated that the accelerator pedal was fully pressed throughout the ordeal, and there was a six-second data gap between the two impacts. Dashcam footage revealed that the brake lights were illuminated, prompting experts to cast doubt on the official account. In December 2024, the police closed the case, citing an inability to ascertain the cause of the accident, and the driver was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing.
Recently, after the vehicle involved in the accident was sent to an independent laboratory for further examination, the vehicle's network card—a vital part responsible for storing and transmitting accident data—mysteriously vanished, with its current location still unknown. The defense attorney has urged for a thorough and independent investigation, prompting the police to revisit the case.
