Towards the end of March, following Tesla's decision to cease accepting custom orders for the Model S and Model X, the company extended an exclusive invitation to select enthusiasts to acquire the limited-edition 'Signature Edition' Plaid series models. A total of 250 units of the Model S Plaid and 100 units of the Model X Plaid—exclusively available in a six-seat setup—will be manufactured, both strictly sold through an invitation-based system. Designed as collector's items, these special editions boast unique exterior and interior designs, specialized brake systems, bespoke wheels, and are equipped as standard with a 'Luxury Package.' Each vehicle is priced at $159,420, a considerable premium over the standard models. Presently, the new stock of the Model X in the U.S. is almost depleted. Tesla intends to organize an official event in May to mark the conclusion of 14 years of production for these two models, although the exact date and venue remain undisclosed. With adjustments to the production line, the discontinuation of the Model S and Model X will create a void in the luxury vehicle market.
