On April 10, adhering to the 'Regulations on the Recall Management of Defective Automotive Products' and its corresponding enforcement guidelines, Beijing Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. submitted a recall proposal to the State Administration for Market Regulation, bearing the recall identification number S2026M0042V. This recall is set to commence on April 21, 2026, targeting a specific batch of eleventh-generation Sonata vehicles manufactured between September 1 and October 13, 2025, encompassing a total of 953 units.

The root cause of the recall lies in the potential for the power management integrated circuit within the vehicle's instrument controller to emit anomalous signals. This irregularity can manifest as erratic behavior in the instrument display, such as flickering or stuttering, and may also result in the instrument display's side interface turning green when the turn signal is engaged, thereby presenting safety risks.

To rectify this issue, Beijing Hyundai will implement complimentary software updates for the affected vehicles through Over-The-Air (OTA) technology. For vehicles that are not compatible with OTA updates, authorized dealerships will reach out to the owners to arrange for the necessary recall procedures to mitigate the identified hazards.
