Hyundai Motor has officially declared that its electric vehicle brand, IONIQ, is set to make its grand entrance into the Chinese market. This milestone is marked by the global premiere of two innovative new energy concept vehicles: the VENUS CONCEPT and EARTH CONCEPT, signifying the commencement of IONIQ's electrification strategy in China. Since its inception in 2016, IONIQ has emerged as a frontrunner in the global battery electric vehicle (BEV) landscape.
The General Manager of Beijing Hyundai emphasized that IONIQ's foray into China reaffirms its unwavering dedication to the Chinese market, with a vision to rejuvenate its presence and performance in the region. On the technological front, Hyundai Motor has seamlessly integrated cutting-edge global technologies with the specific needs and preferences of the Chinese market, introducing what it calls "Heartwarming Technology." Significantly, the design of these two concept cars was predominantly led by a local Chinese design center, ensuring a deep understanding and incorporation of Chinese aesthetics and functionalities.
Looking ahead, IONIQ has ambitious plans for the Chinese market over the next three years. It intends to roll out a range of BEV and extended-range electric vehicle models, specifically targeting the mid-to-large vehicle segments, thereby catering to the diverse and evolving demands of Chinese consumers.
