The all-new Mercedes-Benz all-electric CLA has encountered sluggish sales performance in the Chinese market. Data from the China Passenger Car Association reveals that while 1,369 units were sold in November 2025, this figure drastically dropped to a mere 21 units by February 2026. In stark contrast, the model has achieved robust sales in the European market, with cumulative sales surpassing 25,500 units from August 2025 to February 2026, maintaining a steady monthly average of approximately 4,000 units. In an effort to stimulate sales, Mercedes-Benz has implemented a range of preferential policies, yet the market response has remained tepid. Despite being a flagship product from Mercedes-Benz’s MMA all-electric platform and boasting cutting-edge technology, the all-electric CLA has been unable to reverse its sales downturn, underscoring the challenges Mercedes-Benz faces in its electrification transition in China.
