The Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, has jointly unveiled the Smart Shipping 2030 Action Plan. This comprehensive strategy outlines a vision to deepen the development of smart ports by enhancing the monitoring and perception capabilities of port infrastructure, navigational environments, and vessel operational statuses. It emphasizes the promotion of research and development in ship-port collaboration technologies and equipment, facilitating intelligent berthing, loading and unloading operations, and pilotage services, thereby boosting operational efficiency and safety standards.
Simultaneously, the plan underscores the necessity of accelerating the construction of smart waterways. This involves upgrading the technological infrastructure for ship-shore information exchange in complex navigational zones and during special operational periods. Furthermore, it advocates for the intensified development of intelligent navigation terminals and agents, aiming to fortify the integrated operational capacities of intelligent vessels and smart waterway systems.
