On March 20, during an earnings call, XPENG Chairman He Xiaopeng revealed that XPENG's new-generation IRON humanoid robot is planned to enter mass production by the end of 2026, with construction of the production base having commenced in Guangzhou during the first quarter of this year. IRON is equipped with three Turing AI chips, and the second-generation VLA technology stack has been successfully implemented in the robot. The company expects to enhance its motion and control capabilities in the second half of this year. He Xiaopeng stated that IRON aims to achieve a monthly production capacity of over 1,000 units by the end of this year, prioritizing deployment in store and campus scenarios for guided tours and shopping assistance. For comparison, Unitree disclosed in its prospectus that it expects to ship approximately 5,500 humanoid robots in 2025. If XPENG successfully meets its targets, it will achieve higher-frequency, large-scale production.
