On March 20, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPENG Motors, disclosed that since the Turin chip entered mass production in the third quarter of 2025, its cumulative shipments have exceeded 200,000 units. The company anticipates that beginning in the second quarter of this year, all its models—including the Max variant—will fully transition to the in-house-developed Turin chip. With an annual shipment goal of nearly 1 million units, XPENG aims to establish itself as China’s leading AI chip provider for high-performance edge computing devices. He Xiaopeng also mentioned that Volkswagen serves as the launch customer for both the Turin chip and the second-generation VLA platform. Looking ahead, XPENG plans to make the Turin chip and its comprehensive suite of intelligent solutions available to a broader range of automakers, embodied intelligence companies, and Tier 1 suppliers.
