At the 2025 earnings conference, He Xiaopeng, the CEO of XPENG, announced that the company has overhauled its autonomous driving technology framework to facilitate the transition from L2+ to L4 and to promote its global rollout. The second-generation VLA model has now begun reaching users, representing the inaugural delivery for the L4 fully autonomous driving epoch. Presently, test drives for the second-generation VLA are available at all 732 XPENG stores across the nation. In March, the average daily number of test drives doubled compared to the previous month, and sales of the Ultra and Ultra SE models also witnessed a surge, more than doubling in proportion.
