On March 20, the inaugural production-line prototype of the next-generation 2.0T hybrid-optimized engine, the WE20TG-AA—developed through a collaborative effort between Changan Automobile and Dongan Power—officially rolled off the assembly line at Dongan Power’s cutting-edge digital and intelligent manufacturing facility for high-end passenger vehicle engines. This milestone was achieved in a remarkable timeframe of just 1 year and 3 months from project kickoff to prototype completion, setting a new benchmark for rapid research and development (R&D) within the automotive industry.

The engine integrates advanced technologies, including 500-bar ultra-high-pressure fuel injection, an ultra-high compression ratio, and an optimized deep Miller cycle, delivering performance that positions it as a global leader among mass-produced 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection engines. Full-scale mass production is slated to begin in the latter half of 2026.
