On March 18, Yonhap News Agency reported that the South Korean government has, for the first time, sent an interdepartmental joint policy research team to China. The primary objective of this initiative is to delve into advanced driverless technologies and policy frameworks, devise strategies to support the commercialization of autonomous driving, and expedite the establishment of pilot cities dedicated to autonomous driving.

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of South Korea, the research team comprises over 20 members hailing from various departments, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy. The team is scheduled to visit Beijing from the 18th to the 20th of March. During their stay, they will engage in discussions with Chinese officials to gain a comprehensive understanding of the development policies, support initiatives, and infrastructure systems in place for embodied AI technologies.

Furthermore, the research team will also have the opportunity to visit the Innovation Operation Center of Beijing's High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone, as well as leading local enterprises specializing in autonomous driving. This hands-on experience will provide them with invaluable insights into the practical applications and advancements in the field.
