On March 11, it was reported that BMW (China) Automotive Trading Ltd., in accordance with the 'Regulations on the Recall Management of Defective Automotive Products' and its implementation measures, has submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation, with the recall number S2026M0027V. The plan is to recall, starting from March 16, 2026, certain imported BMW 2 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series, X4, X5, X6, and Z4 series vehicles produced between July 31, 2020, and December 22, 2022, totaling 147,830 units. The recall is due to a manufacturing issue with the starter motor, which may experience abnormal wear internally after multiple starts, leading to difficulties in starting. In extreme cases, this may cause internal short circuits, local overheating, and pose a risk of fire.
