On March 11, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) unveiled the production and sales figures for the automotive industry in February 2026. According to the data, passenger vehicle production and sales in February amounted to 1.4 million and 1.536 million units respectively, marking a year-on-year decline of over 15% for both. For the period from January to February, the cumulative production and sales volumes stood at 3.462 million and 3.524 million units, down by 12% and 10.7% year-on-year, correspondingly. Regarding exports, passenger vehicle exports reached 672,000 units in February, experiencing a slight month-on-month decrease of 1.4% but a significant year-on-year surge of 52.4%. From January to February, cumulative exports soared to 1.352 million units, reflecting a 48.4% increase year-on-year.
