On February 27, sources from the market hinted that Dongchedi, ByteDance's auto information and trading platform, is mulling over an initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong, with the ambition to raise funds ranging from USD 1 billion to USD 1.5 billion. In reply to this speculation, both Dongchedi and ByteDance opted to remain tight-lipped, simply stating, "No comment for now." Originally established as an auto news channel under Toutiao, Dongchedi transitioned into an independent platform in 2017. Since then, it has blossomed into one of China's premier auto content and trading platforms, going head-to-head with industry giants such as Autohome and Yiche.com.
