Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. has recently submitted a recall proposal to the State Administration for Market Regulation, bearing the recall number S2026M0024V. Commencing on February 27, 2026, the automaker will initiate a recall involving 29,608 units of the latest-generation X-Trail SUVs, manufactured from December 3, 2020, to May 21, 2024. Under extreme driving scenarios, such as traveling at ultra-high speeds, the cooling systems in these vehicles may fail to provide adequate heat dissipation. This inadequacy can result in abnormally high engine oil temperatures, accelerated bearing shell wear, and the generation of unusual noises. In severe instances, such conditions may precipitate crankshaft seizure or even engine stalling while the vehicle is in motion. To rectify these issues and eliminate potential safety risks, Dongfeng Motor will offer complimentary engine software upgrades for all recalled vehicles. Additionally, the company will conduct thorough engine inspections and replace any worn-out components free of charge.
