On the 11th, BMW Group declared a worldwide recall of several hundred thousand vehicles, citing safety risks associated with the engine starting mechanism. This recall encompasses vehicles manufactured between July 2020 and July 2022 that are fitted with the specific starting device, as well as those that have had this device retrofitted during servicing. The vehicles in question may suffer from heightened wear on the starter solenoid due to an excessive number of starting attempts, potentially resulting in short circuits and even fires. According to reports, the total number of vehicles subject to recall could be as high as 575,000.
