Chrysler (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. has officially submitted a recall proposal to the State Administration for Market Regulation, announcing the recall of 22,003 imported Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured between January 22, 2018, and June 30, 2021, effective immediately. The recall is prompted by an anomaly in the software version of the instrument cluster, which prevents the engine malfunction indicator light from activating as required. This failure renders the vehicles non-compliant with both vehicle emission standards and on-board diagnostic system regulations, thereby posing a potential risk of excessive emissions. To rectify the issue, Chrysler will provide complimentary software updates for the instrument clusters of all affected vehicles, ensuring compliance and mitigating any associated risks.
