On February 4, Guo Shougang, Deputy Director-General of the Equipment Industry Department I at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), announced at a dedicated press conference organized by the State Administration for Market Regulation that the ministry is committed to advancing key standards in areas such as driving automation, collision safety, and control components. This initiative is part of a broader effort to meet regulatory requirements and foster innovation in the automotive sector. Through the enhancement of these standards, the MIIT aims to elevate automotive safety standards and overall quality, thereby providing a robust foundation for the industry's high-quality and sustainable growth. By 2025, China's automotive industry witnessed unprecedented production and sales figures, with new energy vehicle production and sales both surpassing 16 million units, and market penetration reaching an impressive 47.9%. To date, the MIIT has promulgated a total of 88 compulsory national standards concerning automotive safety, establishing a standard system that leads globally.
