On February 3, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and seven other departments jointly issued the 'Guidelines for the Security of Automotive Data Exit (2026 Edition)'. According to these guidelines, automotive data processors must declare a data exit security assessment when providing data overseas under any of the following circumstances: first, providing important data overseas; second, cumulatively providing personal information (excluding sensitive information) of over 1 million individuals overseas since January 1st of the current year; third, cumulatively providing sensitive personal information of over 10,000 individuals overseas since January 1st of the current year; fourth, providing personal information overseas by operators of critical information infrastructure; fifth, other circumstances requiring declaration and assessment as stipulated by the state.
