CATL has rolled out its cutting-edge 5C battery technology. Following 1,400 charge-discharge cycles at a high temperature of 60°C and 3,000 charge-discharge cycles under the optimal conditions of 20°C, this battery boasts a capacity retention rate of at least 80%. In practical terms, this translates to total driving ranges of up to 840,000 kilometers and roughly 1.8 million kilometers, respectively. Its lifespan is a remarkable six times longer than the industry average.
These significant performance improvements are the result of several key technologies. There's a denser and more evenly distributed cathode coating, the incorporation of repair additives into the electrolyte, the use of a 'temperature-responsive agent' on the cell separator, and the refinement and enhancement of the battery management system. Moreover, its accompanying liquid cooling system is designed with a large-area, uniform temperature layout, expanding the cooling area. The battery temperature variation can be kept within ±2°C, and the heat dissipation response time is reduced to under 2 seconds.
