Cui Dongshu, who serves as the Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association Branch (CPCA), shared in an article that, based on data compiled by the CPCA from the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, the total number of public charging piles is projected to reach 4.72 million by December 2025. Specifically, an estimated 92,000 new public charging piles will be installed in that month alone, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.14 million piles compared to December of the previous year. Additionally, the number of private charging piles installed alongside vehicles is expected to reach 15.38 million, with a monthly increase of 678,000 piles in December compared to the preceding month. Moreover, the average monthly charging volume per public charging pile is anticipated to rise to 1,923 kWh in December, up from 1,651 kWh recorded in December of the previous year.
