According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the mandatory national standard titled "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Automatic Emergency Braking Systems of Light-Duty Vehicles" (GB 39901—2025) is set to take effect on January 1, 2028. This standard, which is an updated version of the previously recommended national standard GB/T 39901-2021, marks China's first mandatory national standard within the realm of automotive driving assistance systems. Consequently, automatic emergency braking systems will become a standard feature in all light-duty vehicles, ensuring a unified and standardized benchmark for safety performance.
