According to data unveiled by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries in China throughout the entire year (from January to December) soared to 769.7 GWh, indicating a significant 40.4% increase compared to the previous year. Within this total, the installed capacity of ternary batteries stood at 144.1 GWh, constituting 18.7% of the overall installed capacity and experiencing a modest 3.7% year-on-year rise. Meanwhile, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries reached a staggering 625.3 GWh, accounting for a dominant 81.2% share, with an impressive 52.9% year-on-year growth. Focusing solely on December, the installed capacity of power batteries hit 98.1 GWh, reflecting a 4.9% month-on-month increase and a 35.1% year-on-year surge. Specifically, the installed capacity of ternary batteries in December was 18.2 GWh, representing 18.6% of the total installed capacity, with a slight 0.2% month-on-month uptick and a notable 40.5% year-on-year spike. In contrast, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries in the same month reached 79.8 GWh, making up 81.3% of the total, and showing a 5.9% month-on-month increase along with a 33.7% year-on-year rise.
