Sawyer Merritt, an analyst specializing in electric vehicles, shared a post on the X platform. According to his message, Ryanair has stated that it will not equip its aircraft with the Starlink system. The airline cited two main reasons: the substantial drag effect that would increase fuel costs and the relatively short flight durations of its routes. Ryanair explained that installing the Starlink system would add extra weight to the aircraft and increase aerodynamic drag. As a result, this would lead to a 2% rise in fuel consumption. Furthermore, the airline believes that passengers are unlikely to be willing to pay for WiFi services during a typical one-hour flight.
