On January 10th, Xiaomi Auto addressed inquiries from netizens, revealing that the next-generation Xiaomi SU7 has undergone a series of enhancements, resulting in a slight uptick in curb weight when compared to the initial model. The latest iteration comes equipped as standard with a range of advanced features, including a 2200MPa Xiaomi ultra-strong steel integrated roll cage, 265mm rear wide tires, front four-piston fixed brake calipers, and enhanced comfort amenities in the seating area. These improvements have contributed to an overall increase in curb weight across all variants of the vehicle.
Despite the weight gain, the maximum gross vehicle weight of the new model remains capped at 450kg, identical to that of the first generation. This means there has been no alteration in the vehicle's capacity to accommodate passengers or cargo. Xiaomi Auto has assured that the added weight will not compromise the range, braking efficiency, or handling capabilities of the next-gen SU7. On the contrary, through technological advancements, the car now offers heightened safety standards, extended driving range, quicker charging times, and superior braking and handling prowess.
