On January 9th, BYD's brand-new Seagull model made its appearance in the latest new vehicle declaration catalog released by the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology). Visually, the new model retains much of its original exterior design. However, beneath the surface, it boasts a significant boost in advanced driving assistance capabilities, marking the first time an optional laser radar has been made available.
The advanced driving assistance system has undergone a notable upgrade, transitioning from the 'Divine Eyes C Triple-Camera Version' (DiPilot 100) to the more sophisticated 'Divine Eyes B Laser Version' (DiPilot 300). This enhancement brings with it a new urban navigation feature, promising a smoother and safer driving experience in city environments.
When it comes to the powertrain, the new Seagull model has seen an increase in the maximum power output of its drive motor, jumping from 55kW to a robust 60kW. This improvement allows the vehicle to reach a top speed of 130km/h. Additionally, the model is equipped with a cutting-edge lithium iron phosphate blade battery, ensuring both efficiency and reliability.
