On the evening of January 8, General Motors released its 2025 sales figures, indicating that the company and its Chinese joint ventures collectively delivered nearly 1.9 million vehicles over the course of the year, representing a 2.3% increase compared to the previous year. Notably, sales of new energy vehicles witnessed a remarkable 22.6% year-on-year surge. The two newly launched models from Buick's 'Ultium' series garnered a positive market reception, with Buick MPV sales soaring past 120,000 units, marking a 23% year-on-year growth. Meanwhile, Cadillac LYRIQ and XT5 deliveries saw significant increases, with a 90% and 32.4% year-on-year rise, respectively. The Wuling Hongguang MINIEV family also performed admirably, with sales surpassing 435,000 units. A senior vice president at General Motors attributed these accomplishments to the company's unwavering commitment to product excellence and efficient production and inventory management. As General Motors looks ahead to 2026, it plans to offer new energy vehicle options for all new products launched in China, with a strong emphasis on local innovation.
