On January 5, according to preliminary data published by the UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the number of new car registrations in the UK hit 2.02 million in 2025, marking a 3.5% year-on-year rise. Notably, sales of pure electric vehicles surged by roughly a quarter, capturing 23% of the market share.
