On January 5th, reports emerged that nine key government departments, spearheaded by the Ministry of Commerce, jointly issued a circular on January 4th outlining a strategic initiative to foster green consumption. This circular underscores the importance of propelling green automotive consumption, facilitating the acquisition of new energy vehicles (NEVs), and fortifying the automotive industry supply chain. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need to harness the untapped potential of the automotive aftermarket, encompassing pre-owned vehicles, car rentals, vehicle customizations, and car-sharing services. The overarching goal is to devise innovative strategies for monetizing idle vehicles and fostering the growth of emerging consumption trends, such as recreational vehicle (RV) camping, drive-in movie theaters, and self-guided road trips.
