On December 31st, relevant documents revealed that, starting in 2026, individual consumers will be entitled to a one-time subsidy when they scrap and replace their old vehicles with new ones, specifically covering the following three categories: firstly, gasoline-powered passenger vehicles registered on or before June 30, 2013; secondly, diesel and other fuel-powered passenger vehicles registered on or before June 30, 2015; and thirdly, new energy passenger vehicles registered on or before December 31, 2019. The newly acquired vehicles must either be new energy passenger vehicles included in the Catalog of Recommended Models for the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology or gasoline passenger vehicles with an engine displacement of 2.0 liters or less. The specific subsidy criteria are outlined as follows: for those scrapping eligible old vehicles and purchasing new energy passenger vehicles, a subsidy equivalent to 12% of the new vehicle's purchase price will be granted, with the maximum subsidy amount not exceeding 20,000 yuan; for those scrapping eligible gasoline passenger vehicles and opting for gasoline passenger vehicles with a displacement of 2.0 liters or less, a subsidy amounting to 10% of the new vehicle's purchase price will be provided, with the ceiling set at no more than 15,000 yuan.
