On December 23, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Zoox, an autonomous driving enterprise under Amazon's ownership, would be recalling 332 vehicles across the United States. The recall was prompted by software malfunctions within its self-driving system. The affected vehicles are outfitted with software versions distributed prior to December 19. These versions could potentially lead the vehicles to stray across the yellow center line at intersections or in their vicinity, veer into opposing traffic lanes, or come to a halt directly in the path of oncoming traffic, thereby elevating the likelihood of collisions. In response, Zoox has promptly provided a complimentary software update to rectify the issue.
