On the morning of December 6, 2025, in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, a Hello self-driving ride-hailing car struck and injured two pedestrians at a crosswalk. One victim became trapped beneath the vehicle, while the other lay injured on the ground. Bystanders at the scene quickly banded together to lift the car, freeing the trapped individual. The vehicle in question, which had the number "3009" affixed to its window, had reportedly been operating without a license plate for several months. The two injured individuals—a man and a woman—were rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Sina Technology reached out to Hello for comment, but as of this report’s publication, no official response had been received. In a statement, Hello’s customer service emphasized that the company takes the online-reported incident very seriously and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation by relevant authorities.
