On December 3, Pony.ai formally introduced barrier-free features, with plans to eventually expand their availability to all autonomous driving models. Visually impaired users can utilize their phone's screen-reading or text-to-speech functionality to operate the App and select a vehicle. Upon the arrival of the autonomous vehicle, users will receive real-time location updates through the App. As they approach the vehicle, it will automatically unlock and verify their identity (this feature is currently exclusive to the latest four-seater model). Once on board, users can simply say "start the journey" aloud to commence their trip. During the journey, users can control the air conditioning, play music, and perform other functions by using the wake-up phrase "Hello POPO." Moreover, Pony.ai has secured permits for autonomous driving travel services in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and is currently engaged in fully driverless Robotaxi commercial operations.
