Recently, a significant lawsuit has been launched against Ford Motor and three dealerships located in Arizona, USA. On August 8, 2023, Abimael Feliciano, a 60-year-old car owner, was driving his Ford C-Max hybrid vehicle and paused at a red light in Dothan, Alabama. During this time, a lethal leak of hydrogen sulfide gas occurred within the vehicle's cabin. This dangerous situation arose due to an improperly connected exhaust pipe from the hybrid battery located at the rear of the vehicle, ultimately causing Feliciano's death by poisoning. The autopsy report unequivocally identified the cause of death as poisoning from a high concentration of hydrogen sulfide.

The plaintiff has leveled accusations against Ford, alleging design flaws that failed to ensure the safety of the battery's exhaust structure. Furthermore, they claim that Ford neglected to equip the vehicle with a gas detection or alarm system, which could have potentially prevented this tragic incident. In addition to Ford, three Arizona dealerships—Bill Luke Tempe, Camelback Ford Lincoln, and Sanderson Ford—have also been named as defendants in the lawsuit. The plaintiff contends that these dealerships failed to conduct proper inspections and maintenance on the vehicle, thereby missing the chance to identify and rectify the exhaust pipe malfunction before it led to fatal consequences.

Feliciano's family is demanding a jury trial and is seeking substantial financial compensation for their loss.
