Cui Dongshu, the Secretary-General of the Passenger Car Association Branch, penned an article revealing that China's slice of the global automotive market pie continues to expand. In October, China's market share soared to 38%, marking a 1-percentage-point increase from the same period the previous year. Looking at the bigger picture, the annual market share for 2024 was 34.2%, and for the first ten months of 2025 (January to October), it reached 34.9%. Notably, October's monthly market share outstripped the annual average by a significant 3 percentage points. Among the top 10 global automakers this year, three Chinese brands have witnessed remarkable growth in their market shares. BYD has secured the 6th position, Geely stands at 8th, and Chery claims the 10th spot. The rapid shift towards electrification has acted as a catalyst, hastening the decline of some international automakers. Apart from those in the U.S. and Indian markets, which have been influenced by unique and specific factors, the market shares of other international brands have been on a downward trajectory.
