On November 30, reports surfaced indicating that Tesla's FSD (Supervised) initiative is rapidly advancing across Europe, with Spain emerging as a pivotal testing ground under the recently introduced 'Spain Autonomous Vehicle Framework Plan' (ES-AV). The plan, slated to kick off in July 2025, is structured into three distinct phases. Notably, Tesla has already progressed to the third phase, wherein onboard safety operators are no longer a prerequisite, and remote monitoring capabilities have been approved.
At present, Tesla Spain has received the green light to conduct FSD tests on Spanish public roads using a fleet of 19 vehicles. This number is anticipated to grow significantly in the months ahead. The authorization, which spans from November 27, 2025, to November 26, 2027, grants Tesla the freedom to carry out an unlimited number of FSD tests on any national-level roadways throughout Spain.
Moreover, Tesla has commenced FSD test drives in Germany, France, and Italy. Furthermore, the company aims to secure national-level approvals for FSD in the Netherlands by early 2026, continuing its expansion across the continent.
